About me
I am a PhD candidate at Cornell University’s Department of Government. As a scholar of American politics, I study public policy, inequality, and race and ethnic politics, with an emphasis on housing policy. My research explores the role of politics and public policy in shaping people’s relationships with space, place, and belonging in both geographic and community contexts, with a focus on communities that have been historically subjugated by politics and policy-making. My dissertation research examines the attitudes of New York City communities of color towards racial residential integration as a means to achieve equity and how these perceptions are expressed or presented in the municipal policy process.
To date, my work has been graciously supported by the American Political Science Association, the Einaudi Center for International Studies, the PRICE Initiative, the American Planning Association, and the Cornell Graduate School.
Prior to enrolling at Cornell, I worked as a policy analyst for the Office of the Inspector General for the NYPD and as a nonprofit consultant, developing affordable and social/supportive housing for unhoused individuals and families. I hold a BA in political science from CUNY Macaulay Honors College at the College of Staten Island and an MPP from Brown University.
Outside of my work, I spend my time making and enjoying art, photographing loved ones, exploring cities, and learning to live with UCTD as a result of a long COVID infection.
